New Delhi/Jammu Tawi/Srinagar February 18, 2020. An emergency meeting of the lawyers associated with the National Panthers Party was held in New Delhi and its minutes were conveyed to the JKNPP at Jammu headquarters.

The meeting presided over by Prof. Bhim Singh, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman of State Legal Aid Committee, J&K was held, expressing solidarity with J&K government employees who have been fighting against the anti-employee SRO-202 by staging demonstrations and presenting memorandums to the deaf and dumb government of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Panthers Party resolved that all the lawyers associated with the Panthers Party in Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu shall fight for the basic human and just rights of J&K employees recruited in government jobs under horrifying SRO-202. The Recruitment Rules provided in SRO-202 have made it obligatory to spend five years in probation before they shall be considered for permanent tenure.

Prof. Bhim Singh in his memorandum/letter addressed to the President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind has conveyed that the government employees employed in Jammu and Kashmir under SRO-202 are given only basic salary and completely denied allowances like DA, HRA and CCA etc.

Prof. Bhim Singh has urged the President of India to issue urgent instructions to the Lt. Governor of J&K to delete/scrap SRO-202 and apply the genuine services rules to the government employees in J&K as is done in the rest of the country.

He said that SRO-202 is discriminatory, anti-employees and deprives the fresh employees of their basic and fundamental rights as well as right of equality.

He expressed hope that President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind who himself has been a jurist,  may be gracious enough to intervene in the matter to ensure that justice is done to the government employees who are being used worst than daily wagers on meager salaries.
