New Delhi, 03 September 2019. Prof. Bhim Singh, Supremo of Panthers Party & Executive Chairman of State Legal Aid Committee has sent urgent letter to Shri Satya Pal Malik, the Governor of J&K to convene urgent meeting of representatives of all recognized political parties, at least, operating in J&K both national and regional. He in his letter addressed to the Governor this afternoon urged the Governor that,

“I am taking this liberty urging your
honour to kindly convene a meeting of the representatives of the recognised
political parties, at least, in Jammu and Kashmir. The political parties have
been facing terrible situation from all sides and their social contacts as well
as communications have to be restored.

          Since August 5, 2019 I could only
contact Vice President of the JKNPP, Mr. Masood Andrabi residing in Srinagar.
His village is in Pulwama District. He was provided security cover and some
one-room accommodation in Srinagar. He is a great nationalist and political
activist holding the rank of Vice-President of the party. The security
forces/police have thrown out all his luggage/belongings from the room into the
street. He managed to ring me from a landline of someone this morning and
revealed the story of the tragic situation he and his family has been locked
in. He cannot go to his house in Pulwama. Half his family has been staying with
him in Srinagar. He has been working for the Panthers Party for over 15 years
with commitment to peace, harmony and brotherhood.

There are some other Panthers Party
senior activists working in Kashmir Valley but have remained cut off from the
Panthers Party headquarters in Jammu or Delhi.

I would like to request your honour
to kindly fix a day with the representatives of the Panthers Party and all
other state recognised political parties so that your honour may find yourself
the situation in which political activists, I am talking of recognised
political parties like Panthers Party, National Conference and PDP are trapped
in Kashmir Valley in particular. Same is the situation in Rajouri, Poonch,
Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban and Reasi Districts. There is no communication of the
suffering people with officials of J&K Govt. nor there is any system in the
government to meet the suffering people in villages or even in the towns. There
is urgent need that the Hon’ble may hold an urgent meeting with the
representatives of all political parties, at least, recognised political
parties in j&K. Involvement of the people is the only way out to ensure
people’s cooperation so that peace is restored in J&K with honour and
dignity. I fully stand for the commitment of the Panthers Party that Jammu and
Kashmir should not be brought as Union Territory. As for Leh is concerned the
people there have been demanding that and we have no objection.

I shall be grateful for the intervention of the Hon’ble Governor to provide safety and protection to the political activists in Jammu and Kashmir including the Panthers Party leaders/activists.”
