Panthers Party leaders pay homage to Nehru on his 55th death anniversary

New Delhi, 27th May 2019. Several active workers and associates of the Panthers Party paid homage to the first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his 55th death anniversary.

Prof.Bhim Singh,  Chief Patron of National Panthers Party recollected that it was a J&K Students Congress delegation in 1964 which reached the Parliament of India, the day it was opened for session that year. He recollected that about 50 Students Congress leaders  and youth from J&K had joined him to sit on a dharna in front of Parliament of India on that day demanding recall of Sheikh Abdullah and his associates back from Pakistan who had made undesirable statements during their visit to foreign countries.

Prof.Bhim Singh at that time was a law student in Aligarh Muslim University & Chief Organizer of J&K Students Congress when about 50 students and youth leaders reached New Delhi and sat on dharna in front of Parliament demanding recall of Sheikh Abdullah and his associates from Pakistan and declare integration of J&K as final so that the Indian Flag and the Constitution may also shared by the Indian citizens of J&K.

Prof.Bhim Singh was a student in Aligarh Muslim University and among those who joined him on the protest dharna in front of Parliament that day included several youth, men and women and students leaders from different parts of the state of J&K.

He said that before the delegation of J&K students and youth could submit the representation to the Speaker of Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Nehru ji passed away, the National Flag lowered half mast on the Parliament. The protest dharna came to end.

Bhim Singh presently Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party, Sr. Advocate of the Supreme Court of India as well as Sr. Executive Member of Supreme Court Bar Association joined several colleagues this day in New Delhi to join the 55th death anniversary of Nehru to pay homage to the first Prime Minister of India.
