The adage- self-preservation is the first law of nature– is very relevant in today’s context when nobody knows who will be the next victim of the pandemic coronavirus. But one thing is sure that self- isolation with preventive measures, you can keep the killer virus at bay. At this point of time we all need to understand that life is better than gold. Hence, saving ourselves is saving the human race on earth.

In this context, I appeal to everybody anywhere in the world to stand in unison, given the pandemic Covid-19, which has taken the lives of more than 11,000 so far and afflicted more than 3, 00,000 individuals across the world. Let’s not press the panic button but look forward to all possible remedial approaches and facilities available for the mankind.

Developing a sort of immunity against any attack of a virus must be our prime concern for now and for which taking a proper dose of turmeric blended with a slight amount of pepper is more advisable as the ayurveda says. This is what my mother has always advised me to do when thinking of driving out any disease as such. Realization of the importance of herbs and shrubs used in India is just like the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Don’t ever be swayed away in the name of modernity that often blindfolds people.

The basic philosophy of the Indian dietary system is preventive in nature and corrective in approach. It gives us a disease-free life. Any interference with the system is problematic to the folks. Remember when poverty knocks at the door, love flies out of the window.

In adherence to the historic Janta curfew on 22 March 2020 announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, riveted to my laptop I have been home all day without even looking out of the window today. I had never had such an experience before.

Breaking the chain of rapidly ramping up coronavirus cases is more essential as the experts suggest. Hence, staying home is staying healthy is said to be yet another precautionary measure in the given situation.

I am extremely saddened to learn that Covid-19 death toll has risen to 7 including the latest one in Patna, the state capital of Bihar where I was born and brought up.
