PM reviews COVID-19 Pandemic situation and Vaccination Program in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today chaired a high-level meeting to review the COVID-19 Pandemic situation and vaccination program in the country.

The Prime Minister directed that for sustainable COVID-19 management, awareness of the community and its involvement is paramount and there is a need to continue Jan Bhagidari and Jan Andolan for COVID-19 management. He mentioned that the five-fold strategy of Testing, Tracing, Treatment, Covid-appropriate behaviour and Vaccination if implemented with utmost seriousness and commitment would be effective in curbing the spread of the Pandemic.

Planned protests theatrics by Badals, says Amarinder

Dubbing the planned protests of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) as theatrics by the Badals in their frustrated bid to revive the party’s devastated fortunes in Punjab, state Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday said these desperate tactics would not work as the Akalis had completely lost face in the wake of their fiasco over the farm laws.

Amarinder Singh on Sunday hit out at the Central government for spreading “misinformation” about the state’s farmers with its “grave and incorrect allegations” of bonded labourers working in the fields.

Covid numbers continue

Covid numbers continue to inch up in Andhra Pradesh as the state reported 1,730 new cases in the 24 hours taking the total tally to 9,07,676, according to health bulleting released on Sunday.

With Maharashtra in the grip of the second wave of Covid-19, the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government on Sunday announced a “week-end lockdown” across the state besides stringent weekdays norms to combat the sweeping pandemic.

In view of the increasing numbers of new Covid-19 cases, authorities in J&K on Sunday ordered closure of all schools from Monday onwards.
