A few days ago, fans were thrilled when Angrezi Medium director Homi Adajania, released a promo video featuring top Bollywood actresses singing to the growingly popular song Kudi Nu Nachne De. As the song has gone viral and seems to have become every girl’s anthem, we asked some of the kudi tribe why this song is so special to them.
Alia Bhat says,
“Kudi nu nachne de talks about letting a girl be and letting her achieve and once she does, she will do wonders and take over the world.”
“It’s so sad that even now in so many homes in India, people don’t let the girl just be free and be their truest self. I hope every girl can experience that the way I did” adds Anushka Sharma.
Katrina Kaif shares,
“Don’t tell the girl how to dance… let her express her true herself and the world will be a better place.”
The video of this upbeat, shiny happy song showcases Alia Bhat, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Kriti Sanon, Janhvi Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Ananya Panday and Radhika Madan just being themselves – beautiful, goofy, fun and full of positive spirit. It is totally unscripted and the girls literally played the song and danced and sang uninhibitedly in front of the camera.
Director Homi Adajania signs off,
“There shouldn’t be just one day to celebrate Women’s Day, it should be celebrated every day!”
