Yoga Day
Tomorrow, 21st June, is International Yoga Day. I regard it as a gimmick and drama.
When 50% of Indian children are malnourished, 50% of our women anaemic, and there is record unemployment, skyrocketing prices, and almost total lack of proper healthcare for the masses, telling people to do yoga is as vulgar as Queen Marie Antoinette telling people who had no bread to eat cake.
What people want is not yoga but food, jobs, shelter, healthcare, and other necessities. It is a cruel ruse and trick to tell a hungry or unemployed man/ woman to do yoga.
It is said that yoga gives good health and a peaceful mind. But will it give this to a man/woman who is poor, hungry, and unemployed ? Will it give it to our malnourished masses and anaemic women ?
