Mumbai (News Helpline) 4th August 2021: Actress Swara Bhasker, Richa Chadha and Urmila Matondkar demand justice for 9 years old gang-raped and butchered in Delhi.
A 9 years old girl was raped and killed allegedly by a priest and three male employees of a crematorium near Delhi Cantonment in southwest Delhi, who then cremated her body allegedly without anyone’s consent.
The case came to the fore and has been a hot topic of debate ever since.
The film fraternity has expressed anger on social media over the gang rape and murder, demand justice for the little one.
Actress Swara Bhasker took to her social media and wrote,
“A 9 year old child has been raped, murdered and the corpse forcibly cremated! She is a Dalit. The rapist was a priest…in the national capital…is there a more obvious and sickening manifestation of crime, inequality and lawlessness? Am I missing the 2012 Dec outrage?”
Actress Richa Chadha wants Delhi Police to publicly shame the culprits. She wrote, “name and shame the rapist”.
Actress turned politician Urmila Matondkar tweeted: “#JusticeForDelhiCanttGirl #JusticeForDelhiCanttGirl”
An FIR is registered on basis of her mother’s statement. Crematorium’s priest has been taken into custody. FSL and the crime team collected samples for the investigation.
