One Health is to be launched on a pilot basis in Bengaluru tomorrow

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, has taken an initiative to bring stakeholders on a single platform to meet the health challenges of animals, humans and the environment through a ‘One-Health’ approach.

According to a government release, DAHD and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) are undertaking the responsibility of implementing the ‘One-Health’ model in the states of Karnataka and Uttarakhand as implementation partners.

DAHD will launch ‘One Health’ on a pilot basis in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka tomorrow. Atul Chaturvedi, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, will launch this pilot project in Karnataka. All the prominent dignitaries from the Center and the state and stakeholders from the livestock, human resource, wildlife and environment sectors will be present on the occasion.
