CBDT notified income tax return forms for AY 2023-24 much in advance

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified Income Tax Return Forms (ITR Forms) for the Assessment Year 2023-24 vide Notification No. 04 & 05 of 2023 (dated 10.02.2023 & 14.02.2023). These ITR forms will be effective from April 1, 2023, and have been notified well in advance to enable the filing of returns from the beginning of the next assessment year.

An official spokesperson said that for the convenience of taxpayers and ease of filing ITR, no significant changes had been made this time as compared to last year’s form. Necessary minimum changes have been made due to amendments in the Income Tax Act, of 1961.
