Siddaramaiah sworn in as the 24th Chief Minister of Karnataka
Siddaramaiah took oath as the 24th Chief Minister of Karnataka today at the swearing-in ceremony of the new Congress government in Karnataka. The ceremony took place at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office to Siddaramaiah.

Vice-President addresses 70th Annual Convocation of Panjab University, Chandigarh

During the ceremony, the Vice-President, who is also the Chancellor of Panjab University, conferred the Honoris Causa (Doctor of Literature) on noted educator and philanthropist, Dr Sudha N. Murty and Honoris Causa (Doctor of Laws) on the former Chief Justice of India and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shri Ranjan Gogoi.

CBI court orders release of Lalu Yadav’s passport
According to media reports, the special CBI court in Ranchi has allowed the release of the passport from Rashtriya Janata Dal President and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav. International Conference on ‘Indian Pharma and Indian Medical Devices’ from 26th to 27th May 2023 in New Delhi
The Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Dr Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate the 8th edition of the International Conference on ‘India Pharma & India Medical Device 2023’ organized by the Department of Pharmaceuticals in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from May 26 – 27, 2022 in New Delhi. Shri Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State for the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, will also participate in the event.
As part of the conference, Dr Mandaviya will launch the National Medical Devices Policy, 2023, as well as the Export Promotion Council for Medical Devices. Dr Mandaviya expressed confidence that the Indian Pharmaceutical Sector, rightly called the Pharmacy of the World, will be contributing more in the coming years both for domestic needs and for global needs. Further, realizing the importance of the Medical Devices Sector, the Sunrise Sector, with the potential to grow to 50 Bn US$ by 2030, the Union Cabinet recently approved the National Medical Devices Policy, 2023, prepared after extensive consultation with the Industries and other stakeholders.
Death toll in Bengal cracker factory blast rises to 12
The death toll in the explosion at an illegal firecracker factory in West Bengal’s East Midnapore district rose to 12 on Saturday as two more people died.
Seven people were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles on Kedarnath Highway
According to media reports, two vehicles collided head-on today on the Kedarnath Highway in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand.
