Indian Army contingent has left for Egypt to participate in "Exercise Bright Star- 23" to be held from 31 August to 14 September 2023 at Mohamed Naguib Military Base. This contingent comprises 137 personnel. It is a multinational joint military exercise of three services which will be led by US CENTCOM and Egypt Army. It originated as a bilateral biennial training exercise between the US and Egypt during the 1977 Camp David Accords. The first edition of the exercise was conducted in the year 1980 in Egypt. Since 1995 the exercise has been expanded for the participation of other countries. The last exercise Bright Star was conducted in the year 2021, in which armies of 21 countries participated.

The Islamabad High Court in Pakistan has given a big relief to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. The High Court has stayed the sentence of Imran Khan and ordered him to be released immediately. A two-member bench of the High Court ordered the release of Imran Khan.
