Long live the lawyers of Pakistan!
By Justice M arkandey Katju
Being basically a lawyer myself ( I became a Judge much later, and have at heart always remained a lawyer ), I was heartened to see on youtube my Pakistani professional colleagues rise to the occasion, and challenge that sold-out, shameless, unabashed and unprincipled toady of the Pakistan Establishment, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, whom I have compared to the 'hanging judge' Judge Jeffreys of England, who was a henchman of the tyrant King James II, and the Nazi Judge Roland Freisler who got opponents of Hitler hanged on a piano wire.
I wrote him a letter saying that he is neither a qazi, nor Faez nor an Isa, but Justice Dramabaz:
I also wrote an article about how much Qazi Faez Isa has damaged the Pakistan judiciary
In an interview by a Pakistani journalist, I said that Qazi Faez Isa is unfit, and does not deserve to be, the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The way Qazi Faez Isa conducted the 15 Judge Supreme Court Full Bench hearing examining the validity of the Practice and Procedure Act was shameful, as mentioned in my interview below by Pakistani journalist Waqar Bagga.
His judgment denying the party symbol to the PTI by a dishonest verdict, only to damage its electoral prospects, disgraced the judiciary
Everyone has come to know how a bakery employee told Qazi Faez Isa ''Laanat hai aap par '', when the latter went to buy donuts at Crusteez
And now the brave lawyers of Pakistan, have dared to face this crooked and shameless CJP, and one of them, Mustafain Kazmi, even called him on his face in Court a fraud.
One would recall that when the tyrant Gen Parvez Musharraf imposed martial law in Pakistan, and illegally ousted the then CJP Justice Iftikhar Chaudhury because he refused to kowtow before Musharraf, the brave Pakistani lawyers launched a massive agitation which led to the ouster of Musharraf, and reinstatement of the CJP.
Long live my brave colleagues, the lawyers of Pakistan! We, your brothers in India, are with you all the way.
