New Delhi, 01st December 2020. Justice Markandey Katju, a retired judge of the Supreme Court, has suggested a middle ground on the peasant movement. If the government accepts what Justice Katju has suggested, then perhaps it could possibly save its honour. And any violence during the peasant movement can also be avoided.
Justice Katju wrote on his verified Facebook post,
“A via media
The next meeting between the farmers and the govt is fixed for 3rd December.
I think a via media solution in this meeting will be if both sides agree that though the farmers laws need not be withdrawn, they will not be enforced till an agreement is reached between the parties in the future.
This will be a face saving device for the govt, and will serve the farmers’ demand partially. It will also avoid violence.”
