Urban people should not shift in the villages as they never considered rural people as human beings. If circumstances drive them to their native places, they feel abandoned in hell as it happened during the pandemic lockdown.

People returned home from metro cities as most of them lost jobs and could not afford to stay in heaven another day empty-handed. None of them realised that the goodwill was also purchased. Nothing had ever been free of cost.

Where they lived once, even were born, they never longed for the forgotten land.

The economy made them run for life and they got shelter in their roots only.

But it is very hard to forget the glittering markets and the freedom of purchasing which they lost with the loss of job or position.

They had nothing anymore except their ego that they belong to the elite urban class never knowing that they never belonged to the class as they carried their caste-based inequality and injustice to the cities with them. But the elite knows best to hide hatred and violence.

They tend to be habitual to maintain their so-called class status.

They always tried to live with the class and struggle to get the stairs to reach the upper class. They may not cope with the so-called lower class, illiterate or semi-literate majority in the villages.

The barren hill villages returned to summer with the migrants returning. But no sooner than the pandemic scare released, most of them left the hell for their urban abode.

They never tried to go back to the roots but tried their best to get rid of the old memories of misery and poverty amidst the growing purchasing crowd leaving the society and community as well.

They were never happy as they always wept for more. They never knew happiness. They had been always sad for the missing things they could not afford.

Being quite unsocial, they might not adjust to the cruel realities of rural life.

It is better for them to succumb in their urban heaven. Let us live in hell.
