My way or the highway

By Justice Markandey Katju

I have blocked many people on Facebook, and many people say I am undemocratic and do not permit freedom of expression.

So let me reply: Yes, I am undemocratic and do not permit freedom of expression to 90% ( or perhaps 95% ) of people. It is my way or the highway for them

90% ( or perhaps 95% ) people, even most of the so-called ‘educated class’, have feudal mindsets, full of casteism and communalism. Even the so-called ‘educated class’ are puffed up with sterile, bookish knowledge.

My way, which you must accept or go on the highway, is that India must rapidly industrialise under a modern-minded leadership which ruthlessly crushes religious bigotry and feudal ideas and practices, and joins the ranks of the developed nations, with its people enjoying a high standard of living.

If you don’t agree, just unfollow me and get out. Too long have I tolerated fools.
