Rakul Preet Singh has worked in the south and Hindi cinema both
Mumbai, 19th October 2022 (NewsHelpline) – Bollywood Actress Rakul Preet Singh is someone who enjoys a multi-lingual fan base, she has worked in the south and Hindi cinema, and now clears the “misquoted” idea of south cinema versus north cinema.
Lately, the film industry has seen some of the biggest and larger-than-life spectacles from south cinema, such as Baahubali, RRR, Vikram, PS1, Pushpa and more, while the Hindi belt is taking a beating as most of the big releases failed at the box office. But Rakul Preet Singh doesn’t believe there is anything like that, as we’re still part of the same diverse and rich culture.
Rakul Preet Singh thinks Tollywood & Bollywood both are making great films
Rakul Preet was interacting with NewsHelpline on the sidelines of Doctor G‘s success celebration, when we asked her about Bollywood movies failing and the audience moving towards south cinema, and she said, “The way it’s been quoted is wrong, there is nothing like that, I think Tollywood is making great films, Hindi cinema is making great films, there is so much talent in just one country that regional cinema is flourishing, Hindi cinema is flourishing, and the boundaries between them are getting blurred, and if you can bring entire talent-pool under one roof, you can make a film of international level. Our country is so diverse in its culture and every industry has been sustaining for so long with credible work”
Anubhuti Kashyap is a very good director
Doctor G marked Rakul’s first-ever outing with a female director, Anubhuti Kashyap, and when asked about her experience working with a female director, she said, “The thought of our film is that a doctor is a doctor by ability, it’s not a male or female doctor, the same thing goes for director, being a male or female has nothing to do with the credibility of director, either you are a good director or not, and Anubhuti Kashyap is a very good director”
“She is somebody who is very nuanced, she pays a lot of attention to detailing, and she choose such a unique concept for her debut directorial, and I wish her all the luck” added Rakul.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Singh has a slew of movies in her kitty, such as Indian 2, Ayalaan, Thank God, Chhatriwali, Mission Cinderella, 31 October Ladies Night and more.
