Growth of 42.85% in Passengers Carried by Domestic Airlines

A remarkable growth in the number of passengers carried by domestic airlines has been noticed. According to the traffic data submitted by various domestic airlines, the number of passengers reached a record-breaking 503.92 lakhs, marking a substantial annual growth of 42.85% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year which was 352.75 lakhs passengers. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, this remarkable surge in passenger numbers reflects the robustness and resilience of India’s aviation industry, showcasing the ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and provide convenient travel options to the citizens of our nation. The increased passenger figures indicate a growing demand for air travel and highlight the positive trajectory of the aviation sector.

“100 Smart Cities-real Incubators of the New Urban India”: Hardeep S. Puri

Hardeep S. Puri, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas apprised the members of the consultative committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs about the progress of Smart Cities Mission. He further stated that the implementation of the Mission at city level is done by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), playing an instrumental role in monitoring the projects to utilize the full potential of this path-breaking mission. The Minister stated that India’s urban future will draw heavily from the innovations being nurtured in these 100 smart cities.

Ishita Kishore topped the Civil Services Examination, 2022

The final result of the Civil Services Examination (CSE), 2022 was declared today, May 23, 2023. According to a release of the Union Public Service Commission, The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 was conducted on 5th June 2022. A total of 11,35,697 candidates applied for this examination, out of which 5,73,735 candidates actually appeared in the examination. A total of 13,090 candidates qualified for appearance in the Written (Main) Examination which was held in September 2022. A total of 2,529 candidates qualified for the Personality Test of the examination. A total of 933 candidates (613 men and 320 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services.

Among the finally qualified candidates, the top four are women candidates.

Ms Ishita Kishore (Roll No. 5809986) has secured the first position in the Civil Services Examination, 2022. She qualified for the examination with­Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject. She has graduated in Economics (Hons.) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
