The 18th summit of G20 countries began in New Delhi today. In its first session, the African Union was made a permanent member of the group. At the inaugural session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited the Chairperson of the African Union Ajali Asomani to take the seat as a permanent member. India had proposed to make the African Union a permanent member of the G20 in the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

The Delhi Declaration, issued on Saturday, the first day of the G20 summit, called for a "comprehensive, just and durable peace in Ukraine" and called on member states to "refrain from the threat of use of force for territorial annexation" or violation of the territorial integrity of any state. It has been requested not to act against it.

The Prime Minister stressed working together in the field of blended fuels. He said that India is among those countries where the solar revolution is going on on a large scale. Millions of farmers in India have adopted natural farming. Shri Modi said that this is a big campaign towards the protection of human health as well as the conservation of soil and earth. Apart from this, he said that under India's chairmanship of G-20, India has also taken many important steps to prepare a global hydrogen system.

Russia has said that it stands firm on its original demands for re-adoption of the Black Sea Grain Agreement. Russia says that its demands do not require any explanation and its stand is clear and firm. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia wants its Agricultural Bank to be reintegrated into the international SWIFT bank payments system, not a subsidiary bank proposed by the United Nations.
