A couple of years back I went to Nepal and was flying on a plane from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which is a beautiful hill station in Nepal.

On the plane were also about 10 young Chinese tourists from the People's Republic of China, more than half of them young, well-built men, perhaps between 20-25 years of age.

Many of them knew English, and when I told them that I am from India, asked me what I knew about China.

I replied ''All I know about China is Mao Tse Tung, whom you have forgotten''.

This caused consternation among the Chinese, who vociferously protested that they had not forgotten Mao.

I said ''Don't lie. You have shamelessly abandoned all the princi[ples that he taught you, and now all you seek is money. You have become a bunch of imperialists, gangsters and Nazis ''.

I am not and have never been, a communist, but I have great respect for Mao, who united China and built it up as a great power ( see the books of Edgar Snow ). But the Chinese of today have become aggressive imperialists, who are looting countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Now I was alone and an old man of 75, whereas these young Chinese men on the aircraft were half a dozen, and stoutly built. They could have easily attacked me and beaten me up physically for calling them shameless, looters and Nazis.

But because the truth was on my side, they could do nothing, and I defeated them just by words.

Satyamev Jayate.
