When I was
in a hostel in Allahabad University in the early 1960s we used to have 'gaali'
competitions late at night with boys in the neighbouring hostel. MC and BC were
only the minor abuses.
After about
an hour of hurling filthiest abuses a couple of boys from a third hostel
adjudged the winner, and the losing team had to give a dinner next day to the
winners.
I narrated
this today to a Pakistani friend on whatsapp. He said he never abused anyone.
I replied
that this is what is wrong with you Pakistanis. Instead of hurling abuses,
which do not do any physical harm to anyone, you prefer to hurl bombs and shoot
bullets at each other
