It was a close fight with AAP to hang on to three-term anti-incumbency was an uphill task and still to manage 43% votes is highly creditable because of the model of social governance (schools, Healthcare, affordable water, electricity and transportation)...BJP has a good organisation and held on to its 2024 Loksabha mandate with special management of caste politics (this is contrary to the impression in public discourse but I consider that BJP politics is all about caste management on the basis of research and data they only focus on this, only recently Akhilesh Yadav in UP has drawn this PDA formula to counter BJP'S caste politics narrative).
BJP's focus on Jat votes got them all 10 Jat-dominated seats than their battery of Dalit and OBC leaders including Union and State cabinet ministers from Poorvanchal-were engaged in a small room and nukkad meetings gave them desired results in Poorvanchali-dominated seats through this micro-management adding on to immense access to material resources with additional
advantage of announcements of implementation of the 8th Pay Commission and budgetary proposals managed them to edge out AAP.
Congress made necessary noises because of Rahul Gandhi's goodwill as a grassroots leader but failed to get any major support from the majority of Delhiwallas maybe except Muslims who as a community should politically have to reinvent and at least for a start they have to convince themselves that they alone cannot set the political narrative and they have to be part as politically of different sections of the majority community to set any political narrative ( I know it is easier said then done when the challenge is on security and livelihood but still can be a given a try)
Inference on this is that opposition politics in North India have a future with Akhilesh Yadav's idea of PDA politics, especially of his image of a leader to take all sections of society together with good governance with a focus on to check the influence of material resources and systemic control of ruling dispensation.
