Regrets from News Services Division, All India Radio News over news telecast

Jammu, 06th June 2020. Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron/Founder of J&K National Panthers Party had strongly protested on the inadvertent use of words in 8 pm bulletin on 04.06.2020 which read-“residents of Jammu and Kashmir as citizens of Jammu and Kashmir”.

Prof. Bhim Singh in a letter to the President of India had strongly protested the use of “citizens of India in its above mentioned Hindi bulletin.

Ira Joshi, the Principal DG NSD AIR, New Delhi in its letter dated 06-06-2020 in a letter addressed to Prof. Bhim Singh this day was considerate on the issue. The letter read as follows,

Subject: Regrets from News Services Division, All India Radio News.

Dear Sir,

Greetings from News Services Division of All India Radio. At the outset, thanks a lot for being an avid listener of All India Radio News.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our regret for inadvertent use of words in 8pm bulletin on 4.6.2020 which read – “residents of Jammu and Kashmir as citizens of Jammu & Kashmir” while translating from English to Hindi. It was a mistake on the part of translator which has been corrected.

Sir, we are extremely grateful to you for pointing the mistake in 8 pm bulletin on 4.6.2020. We shall take utmost precaution to ensure that such a mistake is not repeated.

Since 1937, AIR News have been reaching out to the people with authentic broadcasts on news, events and developments all over the country and we look forward to have such feedback from avid listeners like you”.

Prof. Bhim Singh expressed gratitude to the President of India for the kind consideration of his letter addressed to the President. He also expressed thanks to Ira Joshi for her very kind letter which NPP Supremo received today by E-mail.
