I like all my characters, they are like my children: Supriya Pathak

Mumbai, August 03  (News Helpline): Supriya Pathak has given us some memorable characters onscreen. From Hansa Parekh in ‘Khichdi’ to Dhankor Baa in ‘Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, she has proven her versatility as an actress. The actress is currently basking in the success of her latest release ‘Mimi’ which is continuing to win the hearts of people.

Supriya Pathak spoke to News Helpline about the film, her vivid characters and her upcoming web show Cartel.

Talking about portraying varied characters on screen, she said,

“I basically portray the characters of many women in the world. I try to see life from their perspective and try to portray what they feel rather than what I feel about the world. I enjoy playing so many characters on screen.”

Supriya Pathak: A trained Bharatnatyam dancer & an amazing actress

Supriya Pathak is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and she is an amazing actress. What does she like most, talking about the same, she said,

“Dance and acting are two different aspects of the creative process. I love acting the most but dance helped me as an actor. I never took any formal training for acting. But my dance training at Nalanda University helped me to emote my expressions through acting.”

Talking about her she landed up with her role in Mimi, she said,

“The casting director of the film Vaibhav approached me with the script and I requested him to show me some work of the director Laxman Utekar. The moment I met him and heart the subject, I knew I wanted to be a part of the project. Laxman is an honest person and I knew he will make an honest film.”

Talking about her upcoming web series Cartel, she said,

“I play the role of a very powerful woman who is the head of Angre family in the show. She is a mafia head who is fighting in a man’s world. She not only handles people around her but her family too.”

Talking about her favourite character since the day, she said,

“I like all my characters, they are all my children. I created them. But one character that I can slip in and slip out anytime is Hansa Parekh from Khichdi.  She is a stressbuster for me.”
