The important decision of the Supreme Court: No one can be forced to vaccinate
The Supreme Court in an important judgment today said that no person can be compelled to vaccinate. It has been told in media reports that Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Justice B.R. Gavai said the restrictions imposed by various organisations, institutions and governments on unvaccinated people are not proportionate. The bench suggested that state governments should lift such restrictions until the numbers are reduced.
The bench said that since physical autonomy/physical integrity is a constitutional right, no person can be compelled to vaccinate. However, the apex court also said that the current COVID-19 policy of the government is not arbitrary.
