Asked to block many Twitter accounts completely during farmers’ agitation

According to media reports, micro-blogging site Twitter has told the Karnataka High Court that it was asked to completely block several accounts during the farmers’ agitation on the borders of Delhi last year. It also told a bench headed by Justice Krishna S Dixit that the law in this regard allows blocking of only an individual tweet against the background of political criticism and not the entire account unless there is a repeat offence.

The Ministry of Rural Development has developed the “Jaldoot App” which will be used to track the water level of selected wells of any village in the country. The Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh will launch the “Jaldoot App” at a function in New Delhi tomorrow.

Jaldoot App will enable Gram Rozgar Sahayak (GRS) to measure the water level of selected wells twice a year (Pre-monsoon and Post-monsoon). A sufficient number of measurement locations (2-3) would need to be selected in each village, which would be representative of the groundwater level in that village.

As part of the National Action Plan for Toys, MoHUA has launched Swachh Toycathon, a competition to come up with innovative solutions to convert waste into toys. This competition has been organized under ‘Swachh Amrit Mahotsav’ in which various activities will be organized in a fortnight till 17th September 2022, Seva Diwas, 2nd October 2022, Swachhta Diwas.
