The no-confidence motion moved by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi against the Modi government over the Manipur violence has been rejected by a voice vote in the Lok Sabha.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was yesterday suspended from the Lok Sabha for alleged willful and repeated misconduct and the matter has been referred to the Committee of Privileges. The motion for suspension of the Congress leader was moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi in the Lok Sabha. In the absence of the opposition, the House passed the motion by voice vote.
