Defense Ministry issues clarification on non-payment of pension to armed forces personnel for the month of April 2022

In view of the concerns expressed in sections of the media and social media regarding the non-payment of pension to Defense Pensioners for the month of April 2022, the Ministry of Defense has issued a clarification.

The explanation states that All pensioners must complete annual identification in order to continue receipt of monthly pension, which is usually done in the month of November 2021 by all banks acting as Pension Disbursing Agencies. Due to the COVID situation, the Government had extended the window for annual identification due on November 30, 2021 upto March 31, 2022.

Accordingly, SPARSH has been successfully disbursing monthly pensions to over five lakh pensioners, including 4.47 lakh pensioners who migrated from the legacy system to SPARSH (post 01.01.2016 retirees) up to March 31, 2022.

President Shri Ram Nath Kovind has said that the month of May is very important for the Bodo people as they remember Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma on May 1 which is his death anniversary. The President appreciated Bodo Sahitya Sabha for making an invaluable contribution for the past 70 years in strengthening the Bodo language, literature and culture. He said that the Founder-President of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Joy Bhadra Hagzer and General Secretary Sonaram Thosen had made commendable efforts in recognition of the Bodo language. This Sabha has also played important role in the use of the Bodo language as the medium of school education and place in higher education.

Workers associated with construction work will now be able to travel free in buses in Delhi

In the national capital Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal government, giving a big gift to the labourers going for big construction work, has now announced a free bus service for them after women.

Announcing this, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the state government will give free bus passes from today for Beldar, Mistry, Carpenter, Electrician, Guard and other labourers engaged at the construction site in Delhi.
