A strong and vibrant democracy cannot survive without a free and fearless press: Vice President
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has emphasized that no strong and vibrant democracy can survive without a free, unfettered and fearless press. Addressing a gathering to mark the 50th anniversary of the Bengaluru Press Club, Shri Naidu suggested that India needs strong, free and vibrant media to strengthen the roots of its democracy. Apart from this, Shri Naidu also cautioned about the collapse of values in the media. He called for fair and objective reporting.
Shri Naidu further emphasized that news should not be mixed with views.
In his address, he said that a free and fair press complements an independent judiciary when it comes to strengthening the constitutional rule of law.

Online applications are invited to open Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra
The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), the implementing agency of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), has invited individuals, unemployed pharmacists, government-nominated entities, NGOs, trusts, societies to open Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs). Applications have been invited from etc.
According to a government release, these applications have been invited through an online process. Interested applicants can apply online by visiting the PMBI website janaushadhi.gov.in. Eligible applicants will be given in-principle approval for obtaining a drug license in the name of PMBJP on a “first come first come” basis.
National Health Authority released a revised draft of the Health Data Management (HDM) policy
The National Health Authority (NHA) finalized and published the Health Data Management (HDM) policy for Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in December 2020. Since then, NHA has received feedback from various stakeholders and many lessons have been learned from the pilot and national-level implementation of ABDM. Based on these, certain amendments to the HDM policy have been considered. The draft with the title “Consultation Paper” has been released on the website https://abdm.gov.in/home/Publications on 23rd April 2022 after the amendments.
According to a government release, all stakeholders have been requested to submit comments on the website by March 21, 2022. Apart from submission of entry through online mode, feedback through registered post/courier will also be accepted. The address for sending the presentation is as follows:
