The Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu called upon exporters to explore newer markets to give a fillip to exports and maintain the economic momentum.
Presenting Export Excellence Awards for the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units & Export Oriented Units in Chennai today, the Vice President congratulated all the award winners for their contribution to promoting exports and providing employment. He said the SEZs along with Export Oriented Units (EOUs) contribute about one-third of the country’s exports.
Terming SEZs as an ideal platform for promoting ‘Make in India’, ‘Local goes Global’ and ‘Ease of Doing Business’, he said the country’s exports have grown manifold in recent years due to the hard work of the exporters.

National Workshop on “Innovative Agriculture” at Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started a nationwide campaign to promote natural farming and the Central Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department is also going to work in a mission mode in this direction. The committee formed to include the subject of natural farming in agriculture-related courses has also started work.
The Union Minister said that through natural farming, our synergy with nature will increase, which will have huge benefits for the country including increasing employment in the agriculture sector – in the villages itself.
Shri Tomar was speaking at the inaugural session of the National Workshop on Innovative Agriculture organized by NITI Aayog at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi today.
Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat also participated in the workshop, while Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala was virtual. In technical sessions, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami and prominent agriculture experts delivered the speech.
2,541 new cases of the corona were reported in India in the last 24 hours
The active cases of corona in India today are 16,522. Active cases constitute 0.04 per cent of the total positive cases. The recovery rate in India is 98.75 per cent. With the recovery of 1,862 patients in the last 24 hours, the total number of patients who have recovered (since the start of the pandemic) has increased to 4,25,21,341. In the last 24 hours, 2,541 new cases of the corona were reported.
